St Thomas Rheumatology is looking for a Receptionist to join our team in our Nashville/ Gallatin office. The Receptionist will greet and assist visitors and clients of the organization.
The ideal candidate will deliver a professional and qualified first impression to all visitors. This person has excellent communication and customer service skills. He/she has a basic understanding of administrative and clerical procedures/systems and the ability to multitask in a busy environment.
St. Thomas Rheumatology Consultants is looking for a dependable, professional, and patient-focused Front Desk Medical Receptionist to join our rheumatology practice.
Position Responsibilities:
- Greet and check in patients in a professional and friendly manner
- Check patients out and schedule follow-up appointments
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls
- Schedule new and established patient appointments
- Verify patient demographics and insurance information
- Collect copays and outstanding patient balances
- Assist patients with questions and direct clinical questions to the appropriate staff
- Scan, upload, and organize medical records and documents
- Handle incoming faxes and paperwork
- Maintain accurate patient information in the EMR system
- Confirm appointments and assist with rescheduling
- Communicate professionally with patients, providers, pharmacies, and other medical offices
- Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements
- Work closely with medical assistants, nurses, providers, billing, and management
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front desk
- Follow all office policies and procedures
- Perform additional front-office duties as assigned

Requirements:
- Associates degree is preferred
- A high school diploma is required

- Preferred Nextgen EMR system.
